AAA CAD DRAWING DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES

Hello and welcome to my experimental website.  Before starting this website, I had to  first  choose how to best to structure the content; and to then in turn decide what should be included on the individual pages.  This website is simply a place  to begin and move this project forward.   I  started from a template and the green and white was good enough to begin w/  and I then that I liked the darker text on the green background. Eventually I may change the format for now it is as it appears on the screen for the time being.

Basically I'm still roughing in the idea for the website as I go along revisions will likely be made over time. Revisions will likely follow the present content as the website is  more fully developed and advanced.

I am in the early stages and this website is basically a 'Rough Draft'  for the time being so reader may  think of it as a Beta Version for now. Hopefully more content will be input over time. During the recent pandemic, I had extra time to invest into the website. After being hurt a few years ago I am taking this on simply as a creative outlet. The website is in progress and will be in flux over time. In Business terms sometimes the term value proposition or value added is used to underscore the primary objective and pitch or elevator pitch if you will.

One key idea in engineering is a the idea of tradeoffs. They are inherent in almost any design and build. In order to pursue an opportunity  there must be a reasonably good motivation to pursue a particular design  pathway. Design Critera are important to define in order the examine alternatives to arrive at best fit solutions based on the said design criteria.

What I write is intended to be first person observation, and is intended to be objective primarily and generally there are always some exceptions when data is viewed case-by-case objectively. No one person knows it all and I kind of landed into HVAC Designs after studying mechanical engineering at Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering University Park PA. It can be tedious at times.  Selecting Equipment and ensuring that it fits and functions correctly can be challenging at times. There are almost always budget constraints in the form of time, and money, and people power to put together a design package for submittal and final construction documentation. Hopefully the best designs emerge from the design process.

I'm not a web designer and this is fairly new to me. A friend suggested I put up a website. So here goes. My goal would be to put up something useful and professional for the most part. My qualifications are basically that I studied mechanical engineering and have been involved on the design side of various projects in multiple jurisdictions over the years. ASHRAE is the American Society of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineers. They typically publish parameters for successful HVAC outcomes basically as follows:

Please refer to ASHRAE STANDARD 55 is one that comes to mind if there is interest to the reader or design professional or end user and/ or client taking on the project or projects. Below is a link and it can be entered and  pasted into a web browser as follows:

https://www.ashrae.org/technical-resources/bookstore/standard-55-thermal-environmental-conditions-for-human-occupancy

One basic interpretation of their guidelines for thermal comfort inside of buildings is basically if 80 percent of the building occupants are satisfied with the thermal environment within the building then it is a successful design and build typically speaking in a general sense. there are a myriad of other factors that go into successful HVAC DESIGN. FUNCTIONALITY, SERVICEABILITY and ACCESS for generally scheduled maintenance plays a factor in successful outcomes.

typical target design parameters:

 Often times I'm pretty direct.

In my experience, most designs are unique and different and typically are a solution to a design problem or NEED. Breaking down the need into pieces and parts is a way to establish design criteria.

Typical design Criteria may be as simple as  follows:

The HVAC SYSTEM shall be designed and installed to MAINTAIN Room Temperature in both Heating and Cooling Operation.
Further refining that to a particular  physical location or project allows a designer to best fit a design for a given physical location and/or address . Sometimes longitude and latitude serve the function. or Climate Zones become a deciding factor. for selection of various components of the designed and built project.

By code Heating is required.
By code air conditioning is NOT required, however, for some design applications it is required.

this is just a basic list of application to design to consider during design:

Clear - avoid disambiguates when possible (uncertainty whenever and where ever possible).
Correct- Try to be accurate and understand there is a tradeoff between accuracy and precision.
Complete -Until further details emerge operate based on what is known and fill in the unknowns.
Concise - direct and to the point in the interest of time management.
Current - try to keep the process updated as is reasonably expected for everyone.
Communicate - intentions as clearly as possible under present circumstances.
New information will emerge over time as is usually the case.

as an engineer, we usually try to define a scope of work and try meet or exceed client expectations

For short SOW or Scope of Work is typically the basis of a design package or deliverable. Design Documents are part of a Record
and they can take many forms.

Originally I was  born in Wellsboro PA.
Years later, I  attended Wellsboro Area High School and Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering in State College PA.
My professional background is in Mechanical Engineering, specifically Consulting Engineering Design of HVAC , Plumbing systems with Electrical coordination typically and perhaps other building systems design.  The suggestion to build a website was made  to me by a personal friend previously.

So I started to play around with the idea or concept a little.  So this website is basically a small project for me and will be developed more fully over time hopefully that is my goal to build something of value here a Value Prposition if you will.
I am picking up what I can as I move forward and  am able to do so, in regards to PHP and HTML

Ideal would be general good practices  for web design still organizing and arranging content ongoing.
My personal hobbies include DIY projects, hiking, biking , heart healthy cooking, photography, drawing,  road trips or exploring new places.  I have a few professional credentials and am always looking for employment opportunities that may be a good fit.  I am a Registered Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, and hope to apply to PA by reciprocity in the future. Past employment has included the following:

Mechanical Design Engineer BSME PE  LEED AP
Former Professional Handy Man
Former Foreman for a building company residential and commercial properties
Former Ground Man for a National Tree Expert Company
Former Carpenter framing of residential and commercial properties
Former Custodian on contract for a local non profit
Former Maintenance Technician
Former Enumerator for the US Census
Former Dishwasher,  Pantry Chef, and Occasional Line Cook

cont. please see  page 3.0 for contextual bio.

Most of my professional work has been in building systems design for projects with AEC or MEP scopes of work.
AEC is Architectural, Engineering, Construction and MEP is Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing.  Presently I am in the process of setting up my own drawing standards and am actively seeking employment opportunities. As well, I am  pursuing several professional and personal goals moving forward into 2021. Thankyou for reading.
